PACIFIC
DELIGHT’S ‘
OVERSEAS
TRAVEL IN TODAY’S ECONOMY FROM $1,599
Once In A Lifetime Travel
NEW YORK, NY (May 18, 2009) – Leading China tour operator Pacific Delight Tours (http://www.pacificdelighttours.com/) is demonstrating that five-star luxury does not have to come with a hefty price tag with the launch of a limited time offer on its new China Impressions program with rates starting at a remarkable $1,599 including international air via Air China and professionally guided sightseeing experiences in Beijing, Xi'an, Suzhou and Shanghai. Offer must be booked with full deposit by May 31 to qualify.
“Unlike most
destinations, international travel to China has not been adversely affected by
the economy, however, new hotel openings and expansions as well as increased
flight capacity have created greater competition among upscale properties
allowing us to negotiate once-in-a-lifetime price points at five-star, luxury
accommodations on behalf of our valued customers,” said Jerry Pi, president of
Pacific Delight Tours.
“There has never been a greater moment to experience China,” noted Pi.
The China Impressions program starts in Beijing, where visitors can trace the footsteps of emperors across the Badaling section the 2,500-year-old Great Wall of China. Another highlight is the Temple of Heaven (pictured left) and its captivating Imperial Vault of Heaven featuring Echo Wall and the more than 500-year-old Nine-Dragon Cypress. Guests will also visit Tiananmen Square, the largest public area in the world, followed by a tour of the impressive 15th century Imperial Palace at Beijing’s Forbidden City.
The program continues to Xi'an, home of the Terra Cotta Warriors, arguably the most important architectural discovery of the 20th century. Discovered in 1974 by local farmers, the Terra Cotta Warriors are an impressive army of more than 8,000 life-sized statues buried for over 2,200 years guarding the city-sized mausoleum of China’s first emperor, Qin Shi Huang. Travelers will be treated to a short movie depicting the history of the emperor and the Terra Cotta Warriors filmed using the inventive Circle Vision technique providing viewers with a 360° experience. Sightseeing in Xi'an also includes a tour of the Xian History Museum and Small Wild Goose Pagoda.
Suzhou, known as the “Venice of the East” due to its magnificent canals, stone bridges and meticulous gardens, is also the center of China’s silk industry. While in Suzhou, visitors will enjoy a relaxing cruise on the Grand Canal as well as visit to the Master of Fishing Nets Garden.
Pacific Delight’s China Impressions program culminates in the cosmopolitan metropolis of Shanghaiwhere miles of modern skyscrapers call to mind scenes from a futuristic science fiction movie. Undeniably the shopping heaven of Asia, guests will enjoy browsing exotic and contemporary clothing, jewelry, gifts and keepsakes at the ultra-modern Xintiandi shopping and recreation complex, as well as a renowned silk factory and the fashionable Nanjing or Huai Hai Road shopping districts, which have been likened to New York City’s 5th Avenue.
The highlight of the Shanghai experience, however, will be a journey through Shanghai’s colonial past with a stroll through The Bund, a riverside promenade often referred to as Asia’s version of Wall Street in the 1940’s. A tour of OldTown as well as the ShanghaiMuseum and the lavishly elegant Yu Garden, will provide travelers with an insightful glimpse into the city’s profound history.
Priced from $1,599 per person, based on double occupancy, including international air from Los Angeles (LAX) or San Francisco (SFO) via Air China, the China Impressions program is available for bookings (with full deposit) now through May 31, with available departures throughout September and October 2009. Departures from New York City (JFK) are available for an additional $150. For pricing from additional gateways, please contact Pacific Delight Tours at 800-221-7179.
